The Magic of Winter

Icy blues, crisp whites, frosted transparencies, and lots of glittery effects team up to perfectly imitate winter at its most beautiful. The layouts featured here all share one thing in common…the liberal use of one of nature's most mysterious and lovely small wonders – the frosty and fairylike snowflake. Although the same theme and color combinations are repeated in each layout, no two are alike…just like the snowflake.

Instructions
1. Use the craft knife to cut out the center from the Frosted patterned paper, making sure to follow the lines of the snowflakes and referring to project photo for guidance.
2. Cut the Winter acetate sheets to fit the photos, then adhere the acetate onto the photos. Measure 2-1⁄2" in from the left edge and 3-1⁄4" down from the top edge of the Red cardstock, and adhere the two photos slightly overlapping as shown.
3. Place the Frosted patterned paper, aligning edges and adhere.
4. Paint the chipboard letter “S” in Blue, the “N” in White, and the “O” in Red, leaving the “W” natural. Apply the Snow-Tex to each of the letters and allow to dry. Set aside.
5. Trace the chipboard flourish onto the Frosty Snowflakes patterned paper and cut out. Adhere the cutout onto the chipboard flourish. Use the Scarlet ink pad to antique the edges. Position the flourish at the bottom of the layout slightly overlapping the photos as shown, then adhere. Cut out snowflakes of choice from the Frosty Snowflakes patterned paper. Use the foam dots to randomly adhere snowflakes onto the layout, referring to project photo for placement.
6. Adhere the letters set aside in Step 4 across the top of the layout slightly overlapping the photos as shown. Use the label maker to print out the word “MAGIC.” Apply a small amount of Snow-Tex onto the word strip and allow to dry. Then adhere under the letter “W” in the word “SNoW.”
7. Hand journal the Overlay Journaling Bits tag. Carefully cut out around the flourishes. Use the red marker to outline the flourishes, then adhere the tag in the lower left corner as shown.
8. Hand draw a heart onto the Frosted patterned paper and cut out. Use the Scarlet ink pad to distress the edges. Position the heart to the left of the letter “S” in the title and adhere, referring to project photo for placement.
