Sky Writing
Designed by Roxi Phillips
Personalized twill tape is an effective way to add both journaling and texture to your scrapbook pages as illustrated by the layout featured here.
Instructions
Simply print your journaling onto a piece of printer paper first, then use repositionable adhesive tape to secure the twill tape over the printout and print the journaling again onto the tape. The title, “Childhood”, was inscribed freehand onto wax paper and then positioned face down onto the back of the sky area of the photo. The stack was then positioned over a padded surface (an old magazine or a spare notepad work well) and a dry embosser used to trace the letters, gently pressing the lines into the surface. When the journaling was completed, the photo was turned to the right side and the raised areas of the title were sanded for clarity and definition. An airplane cutout as well as colorful buttons provide additional texture and entertaining visual effects, drawing on elements from the background to complete the whimsical look.
