Princess Aiden in Full Regalia
Designed by Catherine Matthews-Scanlon
"Her godmother then touched her with her wand, and, at the same instant, her clothes turned into cloth of gold and silver, all beset with jewels." from Cinderella (Charles Perrault-France) ...
Instructions
1. Trim 1⁄8" away from all sides of the Bazzill Berry cardstock, then adhere centered onto one sheet of Cotton Candy cardstock. Cut four 5-1/2" squares, three from the Pink with Blue Dots paper and one from the second sheet of Cotton Candy cardstock. Adhere the squares onto the Bazzill Berry page with the Cotton Candy square positioned in the bottom left corner, referring to project photo as a guide.
2.
Thread sewing machine with the pink sewing thread and randomly straight stitch back and forth around the perimeter of each square as well as around the perimeter of the entire square composition to create an erratic pattern.
3. Use the alphabet stamps and black ink to journal sentiments regarding the photo subject onto the transparency sheet (“Princess of Quite Alot!” featured here) and cut a 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" rectangle around the journaling. Position, but do not adhere, the journaled transparency onto the bottom right corner of the layout.
4. Cut a 5" x 8-3/4" rectangle from Blue Jay cardstock and use the piece of dry sponge and bright blue acrylic paint to apply smudges to the edges of the rectangle. Adhere the photo centered onto the painted rectangle, then adhere the composition onto the page angled slightly approximately 11⁄8" down from the top and 1-3⁄8" in from the right side and overlapping the top of the journaled transparency.
5. Paint the Monogram letters of choice using the paint colors from the materials list, smudging and blending the colors with the sponge. Run each letter through the Xyron machine (optional, as white glue may be substituted for adhesion). Allow to dry, then adhere onto the left side of the page, referring to project photo for suggested placement.
6. Thread sewing needle with the pink floss, position the crown charm angled onto the left side of the journaled transparency, and stitch into place. Use the same thread to stitch the assorted beads and buttons onto the center of the wool flowers as desired, then adhere the flowers onto the page with some overlapping, referring to project photo as a guide. Use the dry sponge and bright blue paint to apply smudges onto the page around the letters and onto the flowers.
7. Use the rub-ons to apply “At” and then the photo subject’s age onto the page to the left of the photo, then use the black brads to secure the label holder onto the same area with the journaling centered in the opening.
