Everyday Super Heroes
Whether they’re tall, short, young, or old, “Everyday Super Heroes” presents a heartfelt look at the men in our lives. Their names may not be known nor their faces recognized internationally, but they are just as important and equally as famous to those who love them. They work hard at what they do and bring both joy and laughter into our lives. The layouts and stories featured here are as uniquely different as the women who created them, although in the end, their purpose is the same…to pay tribute to the men in our lives who serve as friend, father, role model, and everyday hero. |

| Instructions |
| 1. |
Cut a 7-1/2" x 9-1/4" rectangle from white cardstock, turn vertically and round the top and bottom corners on the left side. Use the You Spin Me Around and the Versa Cube stamps in conjunction with the ink colors from the materials list to apply a patterned motif onto the rounded rectangle, referring to project photo as a guide. Use brown to ink the top, left, and bottom edges of the shape. With right sides even and allowing equal distance between the top and bottom edges of the Java cardstock, center vertically and adhere in place. |
| 2. |
Mat the photo onto Baby Blue cardstock leaving a 1/8 " border and vertically center and adhere the photo onto the stamped rectangle 1/2" in from the right side. |
| 3. |
Cut two 5/16" x 12" strips from the Rocky Road paper with the stripes running parallel to the short sides, then adhere the strips horizontally across the page 5⁄16" down from the top and up from the bottom, respectively, with the short sides even with the sides of the page. |
| 4. |
Use the Weathered stamps and white ink to stamp one word of your title (“MOMENT” featured here) onto the chipboard, then emboss the journaling with white embossing powder and set with the heat tool or hair dryer. When completely dry, use the craft knife to cut out each letter just outside the perimeter. Adhere the letters vertically and centered 1" in from the left side of the page as shown. |
| 5. |
Load printer with red cardstock (positioned to print on the wrong side) and use a large font of choice to journal one word of your title into a 1-3/4" x 4" text box on your computer, using the reverse or mirror image function. Print out the journaling and use the craft knife to cut out each letter, then adhere vertically onto the left side of the page with the tops of the letters extending out from the edge and the bottom of the letters overlapping some of the chipboard letters, referring to project photo as a placement guide. Trim the tops of the letters even with the side of the page. |
| 6. |
Use the Black Writer to journal sentiments onto the remaining off-white cardstock, then cut strips around individual words or phrases as desired, ink the perimeter of each strip with black, and adhere in place vertically onto the page in the space between the chipboard letters and the patterned background. |
| 7. |
Emboss the chipboard brackets with the Clear and Sky Blue embossing powders, heat set, and allow to dry completely. Adhere in place as shown in the project photo. |
