Photo Fruzzle Puzzle Frames : Maple Leaf

Designed by Mary Ayres
Unique and playfully designed, these puzzle photo frames offer endless possibilities for creative fun. The sky is the limit when selecting color, style and texture for paper backgrounds (perfect for leftover scraps), or you don’t have to use paper at all… stamping ink or paint are acceptable alternatives. Embellish with tags, buttons, decorative fibers or die-cuts as shown, or decorate as desired.

Instructions

1. Use the paintbrush and Glorious Gold to paint around all edges of the puzzle pieces. Allow to dry.
2. Follow the instructions in Step 2 for the Christmas Tree frame.
3. Use the brown ink to randomly stamp leaf images onto each individual puzzle piece, referring to project photo for suggested placement, then rub all around the edges of the puzzle pieces with the luster rub-ons.
4. Assemble the puzzle according to the manufacturer’s directions.
5. Stamp five fall words of choice onto neutral cardstock (“colorful”, “harvest”, “crisp”, “foliage”, and “breezy” used here). Cut rectangles around the words, leaving more space on the left side and trimming the left corners to create a tag shape. Rub all around the tag edges with the luster rub-ons. Use the sewing needle and metallic thread to attach a button to each tag as shown. Tie the thread into a knot in front, trim ends, and separate strands. Use the foam squares to adhere the tags onto the frame, referring to project photo for placement.
6. Use a font of choice and black to journal “Pieces of Autumn” onto light gray cardstock. Cut a rectangle around the words, rub all around the edges with the luster rub-ons, and adhere onto the black tag. Punch holes in each corner of the journaled rectangle and insert a brad into each hole. Punch a hole in the left side of the tag and insert the eyelet. Insert the length of cord through the eyelet and wrap several times around the stem as shown in the project photo. Tie ends into a bow and trim ends even. Insert photo into the back of completed frame.
