"A day in the life of a paper artist is all about finishing everything else that needs to get done so that I can get down to the important things – like scrapbooking!” says designer Laura Solomon. A whimsical layout is created by focusing on a chipboard dress and attaching a headshot of the artist. The rest is pure comic relief…just like Laura!
Playful, colorful, and just plain fun, this layout was inspired by a cartoon-like chipboard figure. Laura further embellished the figure’s dress with a flower and rhinestone, then cut out a photo of herself (not actual size, of course) and attached it to the chipboard figure. She created a border by cutting out around the flowers from Serene patterned paper and then adhered it across the bottom of the page. Rhinestones were adhered to the center of each flower, adding just the right amount of bling. Journaling was printed onto blue cardstock and an acrylic frame was placed on top. The white marker was used to outline and color in the chipboard letters to spell the word “ArTisT,” then arranged with an eclectic assortment of embellishments and imagery to complete this fun layout. |
