Winter 2009

Scrapbooking is a passionate endeavor, but it can serve a much higher purpose than preserving one’s photos and memories. It can be a useful and therapeutic tool in allowing us to express our deepest feelings and to work through our grief. The Healing Power of Scrapbooking – Coping with Loss is a personal look at how three women have taken the difficult, but necessary steps in dealing with loss. And yes…the struggle was hard, paralyzing for some. In each instance, they began by looking back. Now, they are looking ahead, and all because of scrapbooking.

Fall 2007 Issue

Fall 2007

This issue of Scrapbooking & Beyond takes a look at the art of Still Life Layouts. What these pages express can be just as personal as a page boasting a variety of photos and journaling. The superb collection of pages featured are each as unique as the people who created them. As the leaves turn from green to the rich jewel tones of autumn, we also turn our attention to creating pages about where we've been, or even perhaps, where we'd like to go. Our Destinations section begins with a single drive in the country for “leaf peeping” and makes stops along the way to experience exciting places like Cancun, Paris, and Spain. Each layout evokes the sights, sounds and colors of these dreamed about destinations.

I know I’ll be giving it a try. The spring bug bit me in January…my studio is sparkling clean, and I have a new digital camera and a smile on my face. Yup, I can do this. Don’t you just love spring?
